Karnataka ration card holders may soon be able to complete their e-KYC verification from home using a mobile phone. The Food Department is reportedly preparing a mobile application to make the process easier and reduce the need to visit ration shops.
The proposed system is expected to use face authentication and Aadhaar OTP verification. This could help beneficiaries avoid long queues and technical problems at Fair Price Shops.
The current e-KYC exercise has a September 30, 2026 deadline. Beneficiaries who still need to complete their verification should keep track of the official announcement regarding the new mobile facility.
Until the application is officially launched, beneficiaries should use existing authorised e-KYC services and avoid downloading unofficial apps or sharing Aadhaar OTPs with anyone.
